Chris Woods sentenced to 4 years in Federal Prison

Christopher Woods was sentenced to 4 years in federal prison in Riverside California. Upon his release, Mr. Woods will be deported back to Australia. He entered the court room wearing a white prison uniform covered with a green jacket. His feet were shackled with chains, as well as a chain around his waist and hands cuffed together. Mr. Woods (upon his plea agreement) acknowledged he "scammed" people and defrauded them. In court Mr. Woods said upon his release he "will be working at his uncles bottle store" (liquor store in Australia) He MUST pay back restitution of over $3,500,000.00 to his victims. He was sobbing and crying in tears during his sentencing and when speaking to the court. Was he truly sorry? or Sorry he got caught? You be the judge. Mr. Woods explained how nervous he is in the "prison enviornment". Chris says he is a loaner in jail spending his days cleaning the prison stairs and railings. A FAR CRY from his days living in luxury from stolen money.  He was noticeably thinner, skin was pale and hair seemed darker. This is a closed chapter to his victims and everyone or anyone who dealt with this con man. Woods is serving time in Victorville Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) until March 2015

  1. Hi from Australia. Have been following this case and reading your excellent site for quite a while, as I know some people here in Sydney who know this guy. Is there any way to get full access to the transcripts of his sentencing?

  2. You would have to contact the Federal Court in Riverside CA. Not exactly sure how that works in receiving the transcripts. Unlike a State case, this is a Federal matter so it may be harder to obtain transcripts.

  3. I'm curious if any charges are being pressed on any of his accompises such as Shafeer? I was a victim of his fraud and would like to know if there is anything being done.

  4. As of now the case is closed. Woods is responsible to pay back over $3,500,000. Most of the victims will never see there money again. You could sue Chris Woods in a Civil court, which most likely won't go far considering he's being deported upon his release. As far as anyone else being prosecuted, that's up in the air at this point. No information on that. If you are a victim your urged to contact the FBI (number listed on the blog) Not sure if Woods can be charged with more fraud crimes here in the U.S. Considering he's already been sentenced. (Double Jeporady) Call the FBI.
